EMERGENCY WARM FOR WINTER PROJECT
|
 |
Our WARM FOR WINTER PROJECT strives to improve the shelter conditions for street dogs and cats. We are working to weatherize and re-floor the kennels for a more humane, compassionate shelter particularly for the old, sick and injured street dogs and cats.
URGENT NEEDS! EMERGENCY WARM FOR WINTER PROJECT
Urgent Plea From Marlene Revelen, Founder of Animal Advocates of the US:
"The street dogs and cats are brought to the perreras and placed in small, open-aired, overcrowded pens. During the winter months, the healthy street dogs and cats struggle to keep warm and dry, but the sick, malnourished and injured animals fight the freezing and wet nights with their last bit of strength. More can be done to provide humane and compassionate care. We want to weatherize the kennels to make them more clean, dry, warm and humane for the street dogs and cats who have had very little in their lives.
Your donation or volunteer time or supplies will make a big difference in the lives of these gentle souls who wait for a kind look and help. Thank you."
We have raised $1250 to help street dogs and cats keep warm this winter. We need to raise another $8,050 to buy the tarps, building materials and concrete to weatherize the open aired kennels at the Mexicali perrera ("dog pound") where sick, injured and old street dogs and cats desperately struggle to keep warm. Please DONATE NOW!

These beautiful souls survived living on the streets without anyone to care for them. They survived starvation. They survived abuse. Now, they have hope for a happy life. These wonderful dogs and cats need a forever home. Please read their stories and let their love touch your heart.
HOPPY
Hoppy was taken from the Mexicali shelter just hours before he was scheduled to be euthanized. He is a sweet dog, loves to go on walks. He currently lives with cats and dogs but as far as we know, has not been exposed to children.
RESCUED PUPPIES
3 Labrador-mix puppies rescued from Mexicali, Mexico are waiting for good, forever homes.

FOOD BANK VOLUNTEERS
Two of Our Food Drive Volunteers
Ginny and D.D. help collect dog food throughout Southern California headed to the poorest communities of Mexico where the food feeds over 6,000 starving, injured and homeless street dogs and cats every month.
FEEDING TWO STREET DOGS
Donna, one of our dedicated volunteers drives from San Diego to Mexico every day to provide food, basic medical care, and needed affection to street dogs and cats at the Mexican dog pounds (Perreras). These two street dogs will have a full stomach today.
