Our WARM FOR WINTER PROJECT strives to improve the shelter conditions for street dogs and cats. We are working to weatherize and re-floor the kennels for a more humane, compassionate shelter particularly for the old, sick and injured street dogs and cats.

URGENT NEEDS! EMERGENCY WARM FOR WINTER PROJECT

Urgent Plea From Marlene Revelen, Founder of Animal Advocates of the US:

"The street dogs and cats are brought to the perreras and placed in small, open-aired, overcrowded pens. During the winter months, the healthy street dogs and cats struggle to keep warm and dry, but the sick, malnourished and injured animals fight the freezing and wet nights with their last bit of strength. More can be done to provide humane and compassionate care. We want to weatherize the kennels to make them more clean, dry, warm and humane for the street dogs and cats who have had very little in their lives.

We have raised $1250 to help street dogs and cats keep warm this winter. We need to raise another $8,050 to buy the tarps, building materials and concrete to weatherize the open aired kennels at the Mexicali perrera ("dog pound") where sick, injured and old street dogs and cats desperately struggle to keep warm.
