HARRY - OUR FOSTER DAD
A senior citizen finding purpose in retirement
Harry, a senior citizen, heard about a street dog and her six pups, and generously volunteered to foster them. He said, "I hope I can help them with a good head start on their long journey in life." Thank you Harry for opening your heart and home and making a difference in the lives of street dogs and pups with a warm house, a full stomach and lots of love to help them on their way in life. |

Harry makes a homemade enhancement toy for the street puppies using a broom handle, bits of string and old toys his other dogs left scattered in the garden while Aausy, the mommy dog, watches. |

Volunteers are needed to help provide humane and compassionate care to street dogs and cats. One day a month in either the United States or Mexico makes a difference in the lives of hundreds of street dogs and cats. |

These beautiful souls survived living on the streets without anyone to care for them. They survived starvation. They survived abuse. Now, they have hope for a happy life. These wonderful dogs and cats need a forever home. Please read their stories and let their love touch your heart.
HOPPY
Hoppy was taken from the Mexicali shelter just hours before he was scheduled to be euthanized. He is a sweet dog, loves to go on walks. He currently lives with cats and dogs but as far as we know, has not been exposed to children.
RESCUED PUPPIES
3 Labrador-mix puppies rescued from Mexicali, Mexico are waiting for good, forever homes.

JULIE AND MAYA
I have always been crazy for animals and have taken in many over the years. My husband and I got Oka, a crippled spaniel mix with 4 teeth whom we absolutely adore and ended up keeping her! Next came Maya, a long haired chihuahua who added a lot of "life" in our dog family. After the fires in San Diego in '07 I decided to help by fostering.
JULIE, DENNIS AND FOSTER FRIENDS
We have been fostering furiously ever since, placing over 80 dogs and cats. It has been the most rewarding experience of my life, seeing the animals becoming comfortable in their new environment (most come from horrible conditions) and hearing from the adopters who love their new "family members."

WENDY ADOPTED!
Wendy was rescued from the perrera in Tijuana. She was dumped there with her new born puppies, and was waiting to be put down after her puppies were put down. Marlene, a AAOFUS volunteer, brought her home. She was spayed and adopted by a wonderful family who have recently lost their Dalmatian. Thank you Marlene for giving this sweet dog an opportunity for a happy life!
