HOPPY
This is Hoppy. We named this sweet boy Hoppy because he hops. Hoppy was born with a deformed right leg and he struggled to find food and shelter in Mexicali where we rescued him. But that didn't stop Hoppy. He's a survivor, and a loving dog on top of it. He needs a forever, loving home that will love him, just the way he is, and get all the love he has to offer.

JULIE AND MAYA
I have always been crazy for animals and have taken in many over the years. My husband and I got Oka, a crippled spaniel mix with 4 teeth whom we absolutely adore and ended up keeping her! Next came Maya, a long haired chihuahua who added a lot of "life" in our dog family. After the fires in San Diego in '07 I decided to help by fostering.
JULIE, DENNIS AND FOSTER FRIENDS
We have been fostering furiously ever since, placing over 80 dogs and cats. It has been the most rewarding experience of my life, seeing the animals becoming comfortable in their new environment (most come from horrible conditions) and hearing from the adopters who love their new "family members."

WENDY ADOPTED!
Wendy was rescued from the perrera in Tijuana. She was dumped there with her new born puppies, and was waiting to be put down after her puppies were put down. Marlene, a AAOFUS volunteer, brought her home. She was spayed and adopted by a wonderful family who have recently lost their Dalmatian. Thank you Marlene for giving this sweet dog an opportunity for a happy life!

Animal Advocates of the U.S is a small, but dedicated team of U.S. and Mexican volunteers providing humane treatment and care to abandoned dogs and cats in the poorest communities of Mexico. AAOFUS provides food, water, clean kennels, humane euthanasia, compassion, medical supplies and treatment to more than 6,000 homeless dogs and cats temporarily sheltered at the Tijuana, Mexicali, Rosorito, Saltillo, and Ensenada, Perreras ("dog pounds") each month. AAOFUS’ dedicated team of volunteers travel to the shelters not only to feed these animals but to give them hope that their suffering will end. Most are malnourished, sick, injured, and/or abused, without anyone to care for them. These animals are hungry for a kind word, touch or look. Without the drugs provided by Animal Advocates of the US, these animals would be euthanized by electrocution. Video is available on Youtube.com We also rescue, foster and adopt out the lucky few, well enough to make it over the US border to start a new life. Founded in 2008, we're an all volunteer 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Your donation, volunteer time or interest in Animal Advocates of the U.S. makes a big difference for animals we come in contact with. They don’t have a voice. But we're ready to help them. Will you help us give these gentle souls a voice? They need you. Click here to learn more about the Perrera. |

 HARRY - OUR FOSTER DAD
A senior citizen finding purpose in retirement
When Harry heard about Aausy and her six pups' struggle to find food each day, he thought about the struggles of getting older. He wanted to help Aausy, but at 80, could he handle fostering the street dog and her pups. He turned to his family and neighbors. His daughter helps feed the malnourished dog and her growing pups, and his neighbors collect newspapers to cover their sleeping area and give puppy food and supplies to help out. Friends are spreading the word about the pups to help find the puppies a forever home. Aausy is gaining weight and her pups are healthy and ready for a loving home. She and her pups gave Harry a chance to find purpose in his golden years and reach out to his community to help this little dog and her pups get a second chance in their young lives.
